Our Mission

The Princess Promenade was created to get women out of their cars and on to their bikes. It is an event that gives women a beautiful environment in which to train, socialize, ride, and relax; along the auto-free American River Bike Trail. It is held the first Sunday in October.

But more than that, the Princess Promenade is an intervention. It's a program that helps reduce the most obvious and curable ailment to plague Americans; obesity. In this event you can "Be Your Own Cause" and cure what is a precursor to the major diseases of our time; heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

How You Can Make A Difference

Women influence the lifestyle of most families. Women manage careers, do most of the short city trips required to get groceries, mail packages, shuttle children to appointments, and other operations required to run a household. You can make a difference by setting the stage for change in your own home. Every time you leave your car and use your bicycle to run an errand, you contribute to better health and improved air quality.

You also "automagically" get some exercise. (Wow, what a concept!). With your increased confidence using the bicycle for transportation, you can influence your children and get kids riding their bikes to school again. Boom, another huge problem tackled! Fewer cars on the road, more adults and kids riding their bikes, less stress, less childhood obesity, less onset diabetes; it's a snowball effect of good outcomes.

Promenade Expo

The Princess Promenade is intended to be an environmentally friendly event. It is our goal to not only bring like-minded fitness advocates together, but to produce an event with low waste, low noise, and low emissions. The exhibitors at the Promenade Expo are there to offer you ideas on improving your contribution toward this goal.

What You'll See at the Promenade Expo

Exhibitors selected to participate in this Expo include those with solutions to improve your health and well-being and reduce your impact on the globe. It's that simple. Oh, and show you some cool girlie garb too!

Lunch

After your cruise along the river, lunch awaits at the finish. And we know what princesses like!

Complimentary Massage

At the finish, you'll be treated to first-come, first-served mini-massage. Complimentary passes and Gift certificates will be available should you desire a longer massage!
