OFFICIAL CHARITY PARTNERS
If
you'd like to use your Princess Promenade effort to raise money for
charity, please review the list of Official Charities below and contact
the one(s) that interest you.The Official Charity Program for the
2008 Princess Promenade is an excellent way to make your participation
even more meaningful and to motivate you when the going gets tough.
Through this program, local and national charitable organizations
use the Promenade events as a platform to raise money for their organization
and to increase their profile in the community. Walkers and cyclists
are encouraged to support the charities by raising per-mile pledges
from friends, family and co-workers. Some Official Charities hold
fund raising events at their designated Comfort Station on the Princess
Promenade course. Among the group of volunteers lining the 32 mile
route along the American River Parkway Bike Trail are a large number
of people representing the Princess Promenade Official Charities.
At each of their stations, their energy and inspiration proves highly
motivational to the cyclists, particularly those who have been moved
to raise money for any and all of the worthwhile charitable concerns
detailed below. We believe all Princess Promenade participants contribute
to a worthy cause by improving their health. Be Your Own Cause,
so you can help others learn to help themselves.
